The Gate

Featured Video Play Icon

My current video project, The Soul Shepherd, has had me filming Bedouin shepherds and their flocks over the last two years. Today I begin sharing some of that footage with you in this video short, The Gate.

As you watch, ponder the metaphor of our human souls as sheep needing the care of a shepherd. Let the visuals and scriptures help you see more clearly your relationship with “our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep”. (Hebrews 13:20)

Blessings,

Joel

    Dear Joel,

The presentation was amazing as you are and my prayers for you that Gos will bless many through your work and opens their eyes to see the bible more clearly in context.

But I was watching another video and the presenter was telling most of the shepherd in bedoiuin community are girls and I am not sure if in Biblical times it was the same. And if you can have the scapegoat and psalms 23 explained in your video that will be Amazing grace to us.

May God bless the Gate that it will lead people to the gates of heaven. Amen.

Shalom and Many blessings to you and your family in Yeshua.

Not only is this video simple, informative, and well done (all the things a video must be to live well on the web today) – it’s beautiful. Somehow, nearly breathtakingly so.

What you’ve captured so well is the exact way that Yeshua taught His disciples, and all others that would care to listen. Obviously, you well understand that He often spoke very simply, and used symbols that were everyday, but still visually impactful; sheep, gates, water, salt, bread, light. Like He did, you’ve given us the simple visual example to consider, and infused it with a profound truth – simply stated. No small feat, but one you made look effortless. Well done.

What if others followed your example?

    Yasher koach, Joel.
All blessings to you in Yeshua!

Looks good Joel. I am exciting to see more of your work, as I have seen all the past videos and shared them with my family, most of which are not living for Jesus. Deeply sending you encouragement in your work and for all your family and team. Keep it up!!

    God bless,

Nice video, wish we had this on the projector during your sermon. It make us realize how much Jesus cares for us and protect us when we go to him.

It brings greater understanding when one can see what Jesus was referring to and what the disciples would have envisioned when he taught. I am finding myself able to think much deeper on this verse now. I visited Israel in 1994 and experienced lessons based on customs and geography which helped me to bring the Bible to life so much more in my mind and in my life. This video makes that possible for those who will never be able to go and allows those who have gone to continue to expand their understanding of scripture in a most wonderful way. Thanks so much for your good work! I look forward to continue my support.

Joel we are very excited to see where the Lord has taken you on this journey. Thanks for sharing just a bit of it for now. Your brief film is beautiful and makes me long for Israel 🙂

Please let Jamie and I know if we can help in any way.

Keep up the good work and the rest of us will join with you in prayer.

This was a sweet surprise. Thanks for sharing. It has been a blessing to study sheep as they relate to us but I had never seen this revelation of THE GATE as Jesus was and is.

Dear Joel, it is after dinner here in Woodbury, Tennessee, and my wife had just heard of your work today, and has made me aware of it. I am a former Southern Baptist minister of 25 years and a seminary graduate(New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary) 1985. We are excited about what you are doing and want to take full advantage of it. I have desired to go to the Holy Land for a long time, but I will probably never be able to, so I will visit there through your videos. Thank you for what you are doing. Blessings on you.

Absolutely HELPFUL to cast a greater understanding on this portion of Scripture. I never understood fully what those illustrations meant. When I saw this, I was greatly encouraged in my faith.

Grace and Peace to You and Your Family

We will share this with others.
